I've always been a big fan of earring keys, and when we have some Comfee Keys to sell, not a bad idea AT ALL to pick one up. But, just the same.....having one is NOT essential, and who knows, you might lose your key or be somewhere and not have one with you, and need to make an adjustment.
So here's what you need to know:
You just need a basic pair of jewelry pliers and, like the key, a couple pair of old earrings to practice on, til you get it right. If you've been using the key, you probably have a little sense of the desired tension for the clip, already.
Here's how:
Just like using the key, you'll note that on the back of the clip finding, along the hinge, in the center there is a little tab that sticks out. This is where you make the adjustment.
Taking a small pair of jewelry pliers, gently adjust the tab UPWARD to make it looser.
To tighten, gently adjust it DOWNWARD.
Be careful to be GENTLE, whether you use a key or a pliers, go too hard and you can permanently screw the earrings up and you'll be repurposing them instead of fixing them to wear, LOL.
But if you DO over-adjust, just try to bend back to original position and GENTLY give it another go. If necessary, you can actually disassemble the clip and work on the tab without it being in the hinge. I personally would rather do it ON the hinge as it's a quicker fix, but it's up to you. ;-)
That's all there is to it!!
