Foilage Motif
Arts and Crafts Period design, resembles large lily pads in bloom. 58 x 72mm. Raw brass findings are the most versatile stampings that we carry on this site, because with a little ingenuity you can make them your own. One way to add a quick, non toxic antique finish is to soak them in a vinegar and sea salt solution for an hour, then bake in a 400-425 degree oven for 15-20 minutes (ovens vary so you may have to play with that.) They will come out a lovely brown color. You can buff them a little if there is too much darkening in some spots. When cool, seal with brass wax OR what I like best is to seal with MATTE spray lacquer, found in hardware and crafts stores. Other methods are spray paint, acrylic paint, tripoli on a buff, Liver of Sulfur or JAX patina solutions. You can really make raw brass your own signature look! Sold by the piece.
