Melanie Brooks/Earthenwood Studio:
Ceramic Pendants, Charms, Toggles

It is a special pleasure to work with Melanie Brooks of Earthenwood Studio.

Melanie's unique porcelain focals and pendants have graced the pages of many Interweave Press Publications such as STRINGING, BEADWORK, STEP BY STEP, and CREATIVE JEWELRY. She has also designed projects for SIMPLY BEADS and BEAD UNIQUE. Her designs have been featured in a number of books: STEAMPUNK STYLE by Jean Campbell, CHAIN STYLE by Jane Dickerson, and FOUR SEASONS OF BEADING, by Barb Switzer.

Over the years since the end of her college career and becoming a porcelain bead maker, Melanie has designed and sold her handcrafted ceramic jewelry, porcelain beads and ceramic gift tiles at art fairs, bead shows and bead trade shows all over the country.
Besides designing and conducting business from her stand-alone website at http://www.earthenwoodstudio.com, she also maintains two Etsy stores and a busy blog.

You will love Earthenwood Studio's whimsical jewelry pieces, all designed by Melanie. I'll tease you a little with a sampling!

A most interesting turn in her career came in 2008, when she wrote a series of blog posts called STEAM WEEK. These posts chronicled the development of the Steampunk Genre and also detailed a series of charm designs that she created, during the series. These blog posts led to writing an article for BEADWORK magazine as well as more Steampunk-related articles.

Melanie is also a teacher. While still in college she organized and taught a full series of beading classes for a local bead store. In the winter of 2010, she conducted three workshops on brass filigree wrapped ceramic pendants on a Bead Cruise. She remains open to the idea of future teaching opportunities, particularly in the areas of beadworking and wireworking.

Melanie's schedule is posted in the links at Earthenwood Studio; be sure to check it for shows she may be doing in your vicinity, or in case any classes are listed.
