RUSSIAN GOLDPLATE is a TRUE DESIGNER finish featured at B'sue Boutiques.
Russian Goldplating is a *specialty finish* that is the closest thing you will ever find to the rich look of Victorian rolled-gold plate, or the unique look of Miriam Haskell-style findings.
The finish that was applied to the Haskell-style findings was a secret. It is no longer used in the plating trade. We rejoiced to find that our muted 18K gold based
plating bath with its honey-sepia-cinnamon antique is so near in appearance to the old vintage findings that it can only be told apart, side to side, nuance by nuance. Our Russian Goldplated finish is also *updated* to make it stronger than the old vintage finishes ever were. An authentic look and a quality product equals an outstanding design.

An alternative to using higher-priced plating finishes is to develop your own, which we also encourage at B'sue Boutiques. This can be done by using paints and Gilder's Paste over raw brass. Ideas on how you might do that can be found in this video. This video is about gunmetal-look but the principles discussed would easily apply to any other shade you wish to achieve on raw brass.
We will continue to explore handmade finishes and the DIY look at B'sue Boutiques. Surface treatments, patina and colorization are our specialty....as well as top of the line applied finishes, by premier platers.
