RUSSIAN GOLDPLATE is a TRUE DESIGNER finish featured at B'sue Boutiques. It mimics closely the lush antique gold finish found in the old Miriam Haskell and Robert designer jewelry that is prized by collectors today; you can really only tell the difference when you compare the old findings side by side with our newly made ones. The biggest difference is that the old plating is no longer legally made in the US, and, it was a form of brass over brass...yes! brass wash right over top of brass....a cool look, but a bit fragile and even a little transient. That's why so often the old jewelry went green with moisture or humid climates, and sometimes even disintegrated. Our Russian Goldplating is a true form of goldplating with a rich 18K look, so it is of much higher quality than the old finish. It features a lovely cinnamon and honey pale antique to enhance the detail of the underlying stamping.
