Vintage 1928 Jewelry Filigree Link Chain. This chain was vintage when the company bought it back in the early 70's when the piece in the photo was made, and the chain comes from the 1928 factory. Many gorgeous, collectable pieces were made over the years with this chain, or chain very similar to it. It has 15x5mm filigree links, and the small, circular links are approximately 3.5x2.5mm. The chain is raw, mellow aged brass. Back in the day, the company used chain in the raw state and antiqued it by hand themself,in the factory. Their technique is one you can use, too: Stretch your chain out on an old towel. Generously apply black acrylic paint to the chain, let it set hardly a minute, then carefully wipe it back with another towel. This will highlight the links. You can then seal the links with spray lacquer or Swellegant Clear Cote. Something else you can do is dye it colors, using Swellegant Dye Oxides, or patina it, using Swellegant Patinas (I like Tiffany the best.)
