Cotton Pearls are here!! What are they you ask? Let me tell you! Cotton pearls are tightly compressed, spun cotton which is then coated with a pearl lacquer giving them a beautifully textured finish. They were invented in the mid 1800's as a lightweight alternative bead. Then during the Art Deco era, multi-layered, pearl necklaces were all the rage, however the weight of these pearl necklaces made them uncomfortable to wear. To address this issue, manufacturers began using the cotton pearl! Problem solved! This assortment has 5 colors: light aqua, pastel pink, lilac, bronze and cream (this shade is only in the 4mm size).
